1 Tuesday
In keeping the spirit of communion of saints, we remembered today the Solemnity of All Saints and in anticipation the All Souls Day(Filipino Style). Together with my in-laws, we visited the grave of my father-in-law (Jesus de Jesus) at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in the morning until three o'clock in the afternoon. I was surprised by a hassle free ride going to and from the cemetery. Traffic was nightmare before going to Rolling Hills, but now the people in the traffic management of the city did their best to ease the burden of the commuters by a very ordered/well-managed traffic plan. Since I'm on diet I did not enjoy much the sumptuous native foods prepared by Nanay Mildred. The mouth-watering valenciana and but-ong were so tempting but I had to control my appetite to help myself lose weight.
At around 4PM, me and my wife separated our ways after we left the cemetery because we're off to my hometown, Bago City to visit the grave of Nanay Zenaida. But since it's drizzling when we arrived, we postponed our visit until tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, we had the opportunity to bond with Tatay Estong and later with ave, my sister-in-law Marjorie came from the cemetery. I introduced later my wife to Tiyoy Mecho because it was her first time to meet him, too. After quite sometime Don-don and Mama also arrived from the cemetery. And more fun, bonding moments followed. We played majong until wee hours while my wife was busy sharing thought with Tiyay Lic, our pastora. I can see the joy and pride glowing in the eyes of Tatay to see his three sons and two daughters-in-law bonding together. This moment to be together is a very rare opportunity because we have works and live in different places. That's why we always look forward this day to be together. If Nanay Zenny is still alive, she would also be happy and proud for her sons and daughters-in-law. This is why I am always teary-eyed in gathering like this because it reminds me of my loving mother. Honestly, I have not yet done with my grieving. I really missed Nanay Zenny too much. I love you Nanay, and you know how much I miss you. I love you so much.
We got to bed past 1 AM.
8 Tuesday
The classes for the second semester begin today, though REED classes have been postponed tomorrow due to problems in teaching loads.
In the afternoon, the final draft of RE 2 and RE 4 Handbooks were finally submitted to the press for final printing. After consultation with Fr. Cornelio Moral, OAR I got the go signal as to number of copies to be printed. Initially, for RE 2 1,200 copies were ordered, and 1,000 copies for RE 4. It was a relief on my part as in-charge of layout and editing that the manuscripts were finally sent for printing. Thank God for the wisdom, patience, courage and strength that you gave me for accomplishing this major project again. Despite some problems along the way, you showed me that there's nothing impossible for someone who believes in you and your providence. I am giving you back the honor, glory and praise. Alleluia!
11 Friday
Today, I completed the first three weeks of my gym workout. Surprisingly, the hardwork, discipline, and dedication paid off when after weighing I was told by my trainer that I lost more than 10 pounds. As far as I could remember the last time I checked my weight it was 215-220 pounds a day after I started the workout. But today I couldn't believe, my new weight is 201 pounds. I was very happy for the achievement/improvement I gained for this past few weeks. Thanks to Nonoy Abe, my very determined and strict trainer for his patience and determination in helping me carry out all the strenuous part of the workout. And to my guardian angel who's presence I invoked every time I began my workout. Thank you for being there.
20 Sunday
After two months of being away from home, my wife was finally home this Sunday evening. Her two-month stay with my mother-in-law's residence gave her the conducive environment and available resources for her speedy healing and recovery from the curettage procedure she underwent due to incomplete abortion of our first baby (2 1/2 months old). Her coming home was a preparation too for coming back to her work on air the following day. This day was the most awaited day for us because we are reunited again. For two months, it was a difficult situation for us to be away from each other since we were just 9 month old as married couple. But now that she's back, everything is back to normal. Thank God for all your love and providence in the most trying moments of our married life.Certainly, it was your grace that enabled us to face those trials with strength and confidence. You have showed us Lord that you are so faithful and lavish in your love for us. Pardon us for the many shortcomings we have, especially in those moments that we doubted your love and yield to our human weakness. Forgive us Lord and strengthen more our faith in you. As we start anew with our normal lives as couple, we submit everything to your most gracious will. Guide and inspire us, help and sustain us in all that we plan, do and desire. Protect us from all evils and bless us with patience, great faith and everything that we need in order to be faithful, true and committed in You and with each other. Gracias!
24 Thursday
Today, I am celebrating the first monthsarry of my gym work out. I have no regrets whatsoever with my decisions to enroll myself in the gym. The result was very amazing for a month old experience in gym work out. My blood pressure is back to normal (120/80); my weight is reduced to 202 lbs (formerly 220+ lbs) and my physical and mental wellness improved. Thank God for these good news. Sustain me and inspire me to be a responsible steward of their precious gift of life, body and soul so that I may always give you glory and praise and serve you in all that I think and do. Bless my ever committed and helpful trainer so that he may always have the patience, wisdom and strength to guide me towards healthier and happier lifestyle for your greater glory Lord.

October 2011
24 Monday
I began my gym workout today. It was really fun. The encouragement of my gym coach inspired me more and made me determined to pursue this routine. My goal is simply to live healthier and sexier every day of my life beginning today. I always believe that when you want to achieve something in life one must learn to sacrifice and focus on that goal. So, starting this day I promised to myself to take extra mile for my health by going to the gym at least five times in a week and to observe proper diet. :)
25 Tuesday
Today, I seriously started the diet plan proposed by my gym instructor to supplement the physical workouts were doing. For the first time in many years, I began eating one cup of rice for breakfast and lunch, and a tuna sandwich or eggs (the white part only)for dinner. My eating habit is adjusting very much to this new rigor but I can feel the benefit this early, like good bowel movement. Anyway, the most important thing here is balance and good diet towards health and fitness in the physical sense. I can feel the drive of eating more but I really have to control myself for the noble goal ahead of me. Thanks for the support of my loving wife, my one and only Bella in life. :)
26 Wednesday
Thank God! The final draft of RE 2 Handbook (2011 Revised Edition) is done today. The copy will now be sent to the members of the committee for proofreading. I have to rush the final draft in order for the members to do serious proofreading of the text. At least for this edition, glitches in grammar and spelling can be minimized if not totally eradicated. The only thing I regret is that the new enrichment activities have not been incorporated because the member who is responsible for doing the job did not meet the deadline (as usual). I've just realized that it's really difficult to work with people whose work ethics is not good. In this kind of work, we can't afford to delay because there are more important things to do other than handing on your literary contribution.People have to understand that printing a handbook is a process, a long and tedious process that needs to be seriously done every step of the way if you want to produce a quality work. Like for example, the lay outing of the pages, the selection of illustrations, proofreading, and many more take a lot of time that a matter of week or two will not be enough. So, I just ask for patience and understanding from people who worked with me in this job. Sometimes I would like to give up the job because I can't just work well in this kind of set-up and people. :(
The third day of gym session was a bit strenuous. I did a lot of legs exercise. For the first time in many years I have practice flexing my knee joints in many ways and intervals. I have to patiently bear the pains and weight of the instruments to fulfill the number of times I have to accomplish the routines. But I really enjoyed a lot because I feel that my whole boy is responding quite good in the physical activities we were doing. Thanks, coach Noy Abe. You did a good job in helping me shape up and be fit.

29 Saturday
Evening Workouts
Eat a hearty lunch that includes plenty of protein (found in foods such as eggs, chicken, nuts and seeds). It is important to eat a healthy snack in the afternoon at around 4 p.m. if you plan to exercise before dinner. If you had an early lunch, eat a large healthy snack, such as trail-mix, fruit salad or granola.
After an evening workout, eat a healthy dinner. Do not have an overly large meal, especially if you have had an afternoon snack as this will negate the benefits of working out. Eat lean meat or fish, plenty of vegetables and remember to drink plenty of fluids.
